LASIK (laser in situ keratomileusis) has made a success story and is currently the most frequently performed method of refractive surgery worldwide.
The reasons for this success are obvious: LASIK patients feel no pain during the treatment, have only short downtimes and can look forward to a quick regeneration of their eyesight. With LASIK, ametropia from +4 to -10 D and astigmatism up to 6 D can be corrected.
First-class quality, maximum safety and the well-being of our patients are top priorities for the Nymphenburger Höfe Eye Center Munich. With the Femto-LASIK we therefore offer you a premium version of the LASIK that makes the course of treatment even more precise and safe.
Classic keratome-LASIK has proven itself internationally since the 1980s, in which the corneal lamella is prepared by the surgeon with a mechanical blade, the so-called microkeratome. For this step, a femtosecond laser is used in the innovative Femto-LASIK, the entire treatment can thus be carried out completely without blades.
Femto-LASIK is characterized by several advantages: It is a precise, pain-free method in which tissue consumption is low and more residual tissue is retained. The risk of infection is further reduced, the flap is formed extremely precisely, and incision-related complications that can occur when using a microkeratome are excluded. All of this contributes to faster healing and rapid vision recovery.
